ACWA Power Company invests in, develops, constructs, and operates power generation, green hydrogen, and desalinated water plants worldwide. It operates through Thermal and Water Desalination; Renewables; and Others segments. The company also engages in the leasing, installation, operation and maintenance, and contracting of electricity generation, water desalination, and steam plants; and distribution of electricity, desalinated water, and steam, as well as other related or auxiliary business activities. It generates power through a range of fossil fuel and renewable sources, such as oil, coal, gas, solar, hydrogen, and wind. The company operates 67 power generation and water desalination projects in Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Azerbaijan, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Oman, Jordan, Egypt, South Africa, Turkey, and Vietnam. The company was formerly known as International Company for Water and Power Projects and changed its name to ACWA POWER Company in January 2022. ACWA Power Company was founded in 2004 and is headquartered in Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
